Sunrise on Hunting Island, SC

Join the Coastal Chapter for a sunrise shoot on Hunting Island, SC. There will be about a 1/2 mile hike from the Hunting Island State Park Nature Center to the Little Hunting Island Boneyard Beach.

Meet at the Hunting Island State Park Nature Center on the south end of the island at 5:15am. Sunrise will be at 6:19am. There is plenty of parking at the Nature Center.

Photography equipment that may be useful - Wide Angle lens for landscapes. Long Lens for Wildlife. There is also an active Osprey nest in the area. Tripod for slow exposure landscapes.

Accessibility: A 1/2 mile hike is required to get to the boneyard beach. It is a rocky "crusher run" road. Shoes with hard soles are recommended.

Restroom availability: Public Restrooms are accessible at the Nature Center.

Food availability or plans: Possible go to Blackstone Cafe in Beaufort, SC on the way back.

Other things to bring - water, sunscreen, hat, insect repellent, rain gear, snack.

EVENT CANCELLATION POLICY
GNPA will make every attempt to execute each trip, workshop or event as planned and as described. However, circumstances beyond GNPA’s control may arise that that affect GNPA’s ability to complete a Trip.
If a Trip is cancelled by GNPA for any reason prior to its start date, GNPA will not provide any compensation for payments made by registrants such as non-refundable hotel deposits or car rental fees. GNPA reserves the right to make changes to the trip including changes to the itinerary and trip leaders at its sole discretion.

PERSONAL SAFETY is of utmost importance.
Nature photography includes inherent risks which all participants must evaluate for themselves as to the safety of any activity based on their personal abilities. Be constantly aware of your surroundings and any potential hazards which could result in injury to you or others.
