Smyrna Chapter August 21st Meeting: Marcia Brandes "Iceland"

Our featured speaker is Marcia Brandes: Iceland, Exploring Beyond the Golden Circle

Iceland is well known as a superior location for stunning photographs. Rather than going on the well traveled “Golden Circle”, this trip focused on the interior of Iceland, the Highlands, as well as the south coast. Much of the area is accessible only during the summer months, and only in a vehicle equipped with 4-wheel drive and a snorkel for fording rivers.
The landscape is unlike any I had visited. The colors, topography, geologic features, and uninhabited wilderness make for jaw-dropping views. It is hard to stop taking pictures. I won’t promise my photos have done it justice, but perhaps they can tempt you to travel to this area to see for yourself.

I couldn’t have gone to Iceland without also visiting the famed diamond beach and glacier lagoon, as well as many of the amazing waterfalls. I’m looking forward to sharing these lovely places with you.
