GNPA Alpharetta Chapter Monthly Meeting: Amazon Adventure
Details
Title: Amazon Adventure
Speakers: Dale, Kathy and Sara Aspy
Description: A trip to the Amazon Rain Forest is the dream of many nature photographers. The Amazon and its rain forest are home to the most diverse habitat on land.
Capturing photographs in a tropical jungle with very low and high light in patches, from a moving boat, looking up into the trees to spot wildlife, and from slippery wet paths in a hot steamy jungle requires prep and processing. Both the photographic equipment and the photographer must be prepared.
This presentation will not be your cousin’s ‘what I did on our family vacation’. It will be more of a how to prep and address the challenges of photographing in a jungle. We will have tips for photographing and some for the processing.
Biography: Dale, Kathy, and Sara Aspy are all scientists by profession, and nature loving photographers by passion. All share photography as a family hobby. Dale and Kathy have been taking photography trips with Sara in tow since she was little. As soon as Sara could read, she was given the field guide to read and her excellent memory has served the whole family well. All of the family are strong believers in protecting the environment and want to use their photos to help conserve nature. Kathy and Dale are original members of GNPA and the family is currently serving as chapter coordinators for the Roswell chapter.
We plan to showcase member photos on TV in the meeting room prior to the speaker presentation. Please upload up to two nature photos that you have taken on the following link by noon the day of the meeting
