With Jamie Anderson
One of the ways to add beauty and awe in a scene is to capture it with an awesome sunrise or sunset. The colors of the sunrise or sunset can range from colorful sunrays to beautiful yellow, orange, and even pink or red cloud coverage. These timeless scenes mark the beginning or ending of the day with beauty and majesty. These scenes can last from only a few fleeting minutes to 30-45 minutes, but they don’t last forever unless they are captured in a good photographic image. However, there are some challenges and limits to what can be captured by your camera.
In this class, my goal is to teach you what some of the challenges are and how to overcome them to come up with a better sunrise and/or sunset photography.
What you will learn:

  1. Definitions and Differences of Dynamic Range and High Dynamic Range
  2. Essential Camera equipment needed for the best results.
  3. Optional equipment and when to use it.
  4. What makes landscape photography ‘tricky’ and what are some of the challenges.
  5. The Four things that Matter for a good photograph:
  6. Proper Exposure
  7. Color or White Balance
  8. Image Quality (RAW or JPG)
  9. Focus
  10. Evaluating the Light
  11. The use of High Dynamic Range (HDR) in Sunrise/Sunset Photography
  12. How to bracket and/or take different exposures of a scene.
  13. Composure

Artist Bio: Jamie Anderson, Coastal Georgia Fine Art Prints
Hello There! So, here’s my quick story. I grew up in Savannah, Georgia and have lived my entire life near the surrounding rivers and protected barrier islands which make up Coastal Georgia. Fishing and camping in the area were experiences that I enjoyed with my family from childhood into adult life. The cities along the coast of Georgia are very beautiful and rich in history, southern culture, charm, and all sorts of 'good ole southern fun'. This, and the adventure of exploring the natural forests, 100 miles of pristine island beaches (some of which are remote and undeveloped), the rivers, wildlife, and the beauty that can be found here is what attracts me and many other tourists, vacationers, nature enthusiasts, fishers, hunters, and photographers, into this area. This is what I love about our home, Coastal Georgia and it is truly an inspiration for my fine art photography. My own love of nature and outdoor skills were honed when I volunteered as a scout leader for over two decades and I still enjoy photographing the outdoors today. I love Coastal Georgia and have dedicated my creative fine art photography efforts to capturing the beauty and charm of this area. My goal is to help you create an inspired, exciting home or office space that will energize you every time you enter it.
