CSR Land Trust Tour, Laverlea Preserve, Evans GA

Join us for a tour of the Sugarberry Hill house and an easy mile walk of its immediate grounds. The 344-acre estate was bequeathed to the Central Savannah River Land Trust (CSRLT) in 2022 by Laverne Dorn. The estate has a mix of woodlands, riparian forest, and open fields that were once used for cattle. With a grant from the Cornell Land Trust Bird Conservation Initiative, Birds Georgia partnered with the Central Savannah River Land Trust to transform one of the old cow fields into a native meadow for wildlife.
