What we’re about
Georgia Adventurers Group is your doorway to get out of the house and explore the outdoors ! Aren't you tired of sitting in the office all day, watching tv all night, playing on the Internet or playing computer games ?? Let's get outdoors !
We're an established MeetUp club, full of experienced activity leaders who enjoy the outdoors and want to share what they know with you. Whether it be hiking, backpacking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, caving, skydiving, hang gliding, outdoor photography, ....etc..etc.... if it's an adventure, we want to do it ! We also explore cultural festivals, food festivals, street markets, and programs put on at the local state & national parks.
Give Georgia Adventures Group a try !
Are you looking for a place to share your experience in an outdoor field ? We welcome anyone who wants to lead an event for our group ! We all want to try new adventures ! Bring it on !

Enjoy Spring views as we walk forest floors up to a scenic mountain top overlooking Allatoona Lake on this figure-eight loop in Carterville's Pine Mountain Recreation Area. The trail has an elevation gain of 1,279 making it moderately challenging, taking about 2.5 hours, with a stop at the summit to enjoy the views.
My hiking style is slow and steady, taking periodic breaks for snacks and enjoying our surroundings. We'll start at the trailhead off Komatsu Drive and follow switchbacks, then hike counter clockwise on the Boot Trail to the stunning viewpoint of the Allatoona Lakes, Kennesaw Mountain, Stone Mountain, and the Atlanta skyline. We'll then circle around the East Loop before finishing the West Loop.
AllTrails map link: Pine Mountain East and West Trail. I will hike with light-moderate, intermittent rain, and cold.
