Red Top Mountain Homestead/Sweetgum/Osprey Loop/Lakeside Trails 5.8 Miles
Details
Enjoy early Spring views as we walk lakeside on a loop combination of trails at Red Top Mountain State Park. This is the second in a series of Tuesday or Thursday evening hikes beginning after daylight savings time. Bring headlamp just in case we need it. The trek has a combination of terrains, including the hilly Homestead Trail, and is considered moderately challenging, taking about 2.5 hours.
My hiking style is slow and steady, taking periodic breaks and enjoying our surroundings. We'll meet in front of the Visitor's Center where parking is $5 without a Georgia State Park Pass. We'll begin walk toward the Homestead Trail, loop up to the Red Top Mountain State Park Trading Post, and circle back along the Lakeside Trail.
