Kennesaw Mountain Kolb Farm Loop/Cease Fire/Old John Ward Trails 6.8 Miles

Enjoy early Spring views as we walk through the historic Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park on a double loop combining Kolb Farm Loop and Old John Ward/Cease Fire Trail. While the trail has gentle elevation gains, it is considered moderately challenging, taking about 2.5 hours with stops at historical markers. With daylight savings so new, bring headlamp just in case we need it.

My hiking style is slow and steady, taking periodic snack breaks and enjoying our surroundings. We'll start at the Union Illinois Monument (parking is $5 without a National Parks pass) and head up the Cease Fire Trail and loop around to the Old John Ward Connector Trail, then briefly on to the Kolb Farm East Trail before circling down the West Trail side and on to the the historic Kolb's Farmhouse. After a brief stop, we'll then loop back using the Kolb Farm West Trail.
