Details
FITNESS HIKE!
You can draw custom-route as far as 10 miles.
We scrambled down to enjoy hopping on the rocks by the Chattahoochee River.
If there is a chance, we can decide to do that during hike while passing the spots.
Hiking Distance: 5-6 miles
Hiking Time: 2 hours
Hiking Speed: 2.7-3.2 mph
Experienced hikers and team players only.
Follow your leader if you are not the leader........no matter how fast you can hike.
Slower hiker may catch up improving your pace.......you will not be left behind....so try your best.
Overall idea is always to do hiking meetups at Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA)
with several parks to enjoy your fitness in nature.
# An Ancient River In A Modern City
COPIED AND PASTED FROM NATIONAL PARK SERVICES WEBSITE:
The oldest still standing bridge within the park, Settles Bridge was built in 1880 as a steel truss bridge. In the late 19th century, steel truss bridges began replacing fords and ferries as a means to cross the Chattahoochee. The wooden deck that once spanned the bridge is now completely gone, but the steel frame remains as an impressive testament to the history of the river.
