Käsespätzle is the delicious German dish that most closely resembles American mac & cheese. It consists of egg noodles topped with a special cheese sauce and crunchy baked onions.

We will make the fluffy egg noodles from scratch and top them off with our very own cheese sauce.
Supplies:
Medium cooking pot
Stovetop
Mixing bowl
Measuring cups/spoons
Mixing spoon
Cheese grater with large holes (preferably flat, not pyramid design) or Spätzle sieve if you have one
Ingredients:
Noodles
4 cups all purpose flour
6 cups water
6 eggs
1/2 cup milk (be sure to have extra in case you need to make the dough more watery)
1 dash nutmeg
1 dash salt
1 dash pepper
Topping
1 onion
1 tbsp butter
1 cup Bergkäse (or just your favorite cheese)
1/2 cup Emmentaler cheese (or just your favorite cheese)
