Grief Doesn’t Stop the Clock: Healing While Life Goes On
Details
Grief doesn’t wait for a convenient time, and it rarely follows the tidy stages we’re told to expect. Most of us are grieving something while still showing up for work, family, and everything else the day asks of us. This free 60 minute psychoeducational workshop is a gentle, judgment-free space to understand what grief does and how healing can live alongside an ordinary, busy life.
What we’ll explore together:
- What grief is and how it differs from mourning and bereavement
- The many kinds of loss, not only death, but the end of a relationship, a shift in identity, addiction and sobriety, and the big transitions that reshape a life
- Why grief doesn’t run on a timeline, and why “you should be over it by now” does more harm than good
- How loss shows up in the brain, the body, your emotions, and your relationships
- Practical ways to cope and keep living while you carry it
A short, optional activity: “What I Carry, What I Can Release.” You’ll map what’s still with you and what you might be ready to set down, like guilt, shame, or the pressure to heal on someone else’s schedule. Sharing is always voluntary. You’re welcome to take part quietly and keep everything to yourself.
Who it’s for: anyone living with a loss of any kind, and anyone who supports someone who is. No experience with grief work needed, and you never have to disclose anything personal.
