Ology Art Meetup + Creative Project (no pressure to participate!)

Alright guys, good news! My schedule is all cleared for Saturdays going forward. Less good, my sickness happened to be Covid, so I don’t want to risk infecting anybody. I am following the proper precautions, but, we’re all set for going forward. Now, if somebody wants to take over for Saturday, message or comment, & that’s totally cool, I’ll transfer it to you. Obviously I can’t trade off supplies given my COVID. I know it’s been a pretty rough roller-coaster, and I don’t have any excuse, but, I am excited to get things off the ground ASAP.

Final Update:
Guys, I am incredibly sick today. Can’t drive. Plus my stepdad recently died, so I am on call for family.
Here’s the plan: if you’re willing the stick around, wait one more week & I will try my hardest to be there. If I can’t, again, which I know has been extremely annoying & I am so sorry, I will either indefinitely postpone until I am certain I can make it or I will find somebody to transfer my supplies to & somebody else can host the meeting. If that happens, anybody in the group is free to DM & let me know if you’d want to. But, I am pretty certain I can make it by then. Sorry isn’t enough for this whole ordeal, I know.

Meeting’s postponed by 2 weeks*. Sorry to update the day before, but family emergency’s been taking up all of my free time— I haven’t touched a pen in days, woe is me. (Maybe this falls under “the plight of the artist”, though? Validating! Each of you earns a badge too). But, in all seriousness, will do my best to update to confirm details beforehand. Please reach out with any time/location preferences or just to harangue me for my flakiness. Not a great start to this group, I know. Really sorry all.

I am truly so sorry. Some of my family’s going through a crisis in the hospital right now, and they need me to help, so I have to reschedule (for 04/11). I don’t mean to be flaky and hope to see people next week instead. Please reach out if you have any suggestions for then! Sorry again.

What to expect: casual art meetup, I’ll be there with my watercolor setup. This is my first time truly drawing in front of others in a while, so I am tentatively excited. Or nervous? Either way, come join in with your current project, just to sketch, or with nothing at all! I am open to discuss arts, comics, or anything else (even non-artistic, woah). There’s no pressure to talk, though.

Project: I am working on setting up a local “trinket box”, but with a focus on including artwork (or crafts). A trinket box (in this case, a repurposed electric box) is essentially a little library, but for trinkets or other items. The box also needs to be decorated, so you’re welcome to participate. It isn’t remotely mandatory though. I have some nice acrylic markers I will bring along. I also have far too many art supplies— carbon paper, origami, cyanotype, charcoals in all shapes and colors, you name it— so if there’s anything you’re interested in, let me know.
