Hegemony

This is a session for players who are new to Hegemony, as well as experienced players who are happy to play at the beginner's pace! Please watch the below video, or read up on the rules in advance, so that everyone has an idea of how the game works.

The host will be there to assist, but we do expect all players to have a basic understanding of the gameplay and rules.

Hegemony: Lead Your Class to Victory is a deep, asymmetric strategy board game where two to four players simulate the social classes and government of a modern nation.

• Working Class: Controls standard workers, fights for better wages, and relies on public welfare and healthcare.
• Capitalist Class: Owns large companies, hires workers, produces goods, and tries to make a profit while paying low taxes.
• Middle Class: Combines both worlds by working jobs, running smaller businesses, and striving for personal prosperity.
• The State: Acts as the government, collects taxes, provides public services, and tries to keep the national budget balanced.

Core Gameplay

• Asymmetric Design: Each faction has completely different rules, goals, and card decks.
• Policy Voting: Players vote on national laws like taxation, foreign trade, and labor rules.
• Economic Balance: Every action affects the overall economy, creating a web of supply, demand, and political tension.

The Zoom link will be posted on this meetup page roughly 10 minutes before the meeting starts. Please join the meeting with your zoom user name matching the name you use on meetup so we can be sure you're not a random gate crasher. We will be aiming to start the game on time, so be on time. This game takes up to 4 players.
