G-O Hike - The Karangahake Gorge tracks

Hello fellow Get-Outsiders!

COME JOIN us for a walk at Karangahake Gorge!

We will meet at the Botanic Gardens Cafe Miko entrance by 7.30am then proceed as a group to the Karangahake Gorge carpark. If you wish to meet us directly at the Gorge carpark (https://maps.app.goo.gl/h3o94H21UjB17YwU6) please meet us there by 9.15am.

We will walk some of the tracks there before returning after lunch. We aim to be back in town by 4pm.

IMPORTANT NOTES & UPDATES:-

• Meet Up Time: 7.30am by the entrance to the Botanic Gardens on Hill Road, Manurewa. We will by back by 4pm.

• Difficulty Rating: Moderate to difficult walk. Please only attend if you are happy climbing steep hills.

• Suitability: Suitable for people who have a good sense of balance and good fitness levels.

• Completion time: We will be back in town by 4pm.

• Footwear: Comfortable good walking shoes please. You may get them wet and muddy. Please expect this :)

• Drinking Water: Bring your own reasonable size bottle/s please.

• Toilets: Public toilets are there at the carpark.

• RSVP to this event: Please only RSVP Yes to this event if you are genuinely intending on coming. If your circumstances change and you are unable to attend please change RSVP asap to allow other people the chance to attend. Once available spaces are full for the event there is a waiting list option you can join. If you RSVP and don't show up or contact us, or if you cancel within 12 hours of the event, it will be treated as a 'No Show' and you may be removed from the group.

• Cellphone Coverage: Cell phone coverage is available.

• Transport/Car Pooling: If you can offer rides to people or wish to request if you can carpool with someone then you can mention this under the 'Conversation' section below on this page and contact each other from there.

• Bring: Drinking water, finger food for lunch, footwear/clothing suitable for walking, a rain jacket (if needed), sunhat, a camera to take great photos, and your passion for the outdoors! :)

• Weather: You can check latest weather updates on www.metservice.com. I will also check the weather forecast day before the hike and update everyone.
