G-O Hike: Hike up the heat in the Hunuas!

Hey guys! Lady Fortune permitting, on the mentioned Saturday we will be hiking some of the tracks by the Hunua Falls south of Auckland. Come along and join the fun!
IMPORTANT DETAILS:-
• Distance from CBD: 50km
• Meet Up Time: 07.30 am for a 07.45am start
• Meet Up Location: Cafe Miko, Auckland Botanic Gardens (https://goo.gl/maps/46nC61qJrXcayeRQ7),
from where we will go to the Hunua Falls carpark as a group. If you miss us at the Botanic Gardens, please join us at the Hunua Falls at the following location: https://goo.gl/maps/FBCL2gWsmnZjoBtY8
by 8.30am at the latest. Please also text Aritra on 021566458 if this happens by 7.45am as there is little phone access at the carpark. If you do not do the above, we may not be able to meet up with you.
• Difficulty Rating: Moderate (lots of stairs).
• Suitability: Reasonable fitness.

• Details: We will hike along the Cossey Gorge Track and Massey track and aim to do a loop (weather permitting). We will return to the carpark/Hunua Falls to relax for a while before coffees/snacks on the way home.
• Completion time: We aim to finish walking by 12.30pm and leave for Auckland by 1pm. Lunch will be along the hike (please bring your own).
• Footwear: Please wear walking boots. Please be prepared to get your footwear wet and muddy.
• Toilets: Available by the car park.
• Bring: Drinking water, lunch, sun cream, clean and sturdy footwear & a dry bag if you are bringing your camera and/or phone with you. We may have an impromptu canvas painting session by the waterfalls at the end - so bring your artistic side too! :)
• Cellphone Coverage: Cell phone coverage is VERY patchy and may be absent. Please plan ahead.
• Other precautions: Please be advised that we may encounter the usual New Zealand wildlife during the hike. Please also advise us of any allergies/other health precautions you may need to take. If you are prone to anaphylaxis, please bring your OWN Epipen, and advise the event organizer in advance.
• Transport/Car Pooling: If you can offer rides to people or wish to request if you can carpool with someone then you can mention this under the 'Conversation' section below on this page.
• Weather: You can check latest weather updates on www.metservice.com. If the weather looks terrible, then the event may be rescheduled to a different weekend later in the year.
• Driving Directions: Please search for Cafe Miko on Google Maps to find us at the Auckland Botanic Gardens. If you are lost, or need help, please call Aritra on 021566458.
• Costs: This is a free event.
• RSVP to this event: Please only RSVP Yes to this event if you are genuinely intending on coming. If your circumstances change and you are unable to attend please change RSVP asap to allow other people the chance to attend. Once available spaces are full for the event there is a waiting list option you can join. If you RSVP and don't show up or contact us, it will be treated as a 'No Show'. If you NO SHOW and don't contact the Organizers you may be removed from the group.

Please note that for the sake of maintaining group harmony, we will stick to the route pre-determined by the organizers. If you choose to go off on your own, you will be marked a 'No Show'
