Coast to Coast Walk - Onehunga to City
Details
Hello fellow Get-Outsiders!
Join us to walk the Coast to Coast Walkway from Onehunga to the City Centre.
The walk covers 16 kms from one coast to the other, starting at Onehunga Bay Reserve, via Cornwall Park, Mt Eden, and Auckland Domain, to the waterfront in the City Centre.
## Plan
• Meet: 9.00am on the grass area by the carpark at Onehunga Bay Reserve, Beachcroft Ave. We will start walking at 9.15am.
• Duration: 16km, 4-5 hours of walking.
• Route: Follow the Coast to Coast Walkway signs from Onehunga via Jellicoe Park, Cornwall Park (with optional side trip to summit), through Epsom, up Mt Eden, through Auckland Domain, Albert Park, and down to the Waterfront. The walk is either paved/gravel pathways or across grassed areas; however it is long in both length and duration of walking so you will need to be prepared to walk for 16km/4-5 hours. We will stop for lunch along the way at a suitable spot (most likely Mt Eden summit).
• Finish: Approx 2 - 2.30pm in the city (depending on how many breaks we take along the way). Those planning to catch a train back to Onehunga to fetch their vehicle can expect to be back at the cars by 4pm.
• Toilets: Several public toilets along the way in different parks.
