ATHLETIC HIKE--Massapequa Preserve to Hempstead Turnpike & Back (8-9 Miles)

THIS HIKE IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS. PLEASE DO NOT RSVP UNLESS YOU CAN MAINTAIN AN 18 MINUTE MILE PACE FOR 8-9 MILES.

This will be a hike from the trailhead near the Massapequa LIRR. The trail is generally flat with many protruding tree roots to demand your attention. Vigilance is required. Hikers should wear appropriate footwear and bring food and drink as needed. NO DOGS.

We will meet in the parking lot along the north side of the train tracks that is on the east side of Parkside Blvd. There is parking along Parkside Blvd. There is also limited parking along the fence which adjoins the nearby Police Athletic League structure.

So, get up and go on a beautifully scenic hike on Friday, June 13th!!
