Robert Moses Hike to Saltaire / Kismet (Fire Island) + optional Beach after the hike.

IMPORTANT:
BE THERE EARLY!!! Sometimes Traffic Heavy on Robert Moses Causeway - take OCEAN Pkwy instead if possible.
BE THERE EARLY!!! There can also be long lines to get into the parking lot.
BE THERE EARLY!!! If field lot 5 is full park in field 4 lot and walk to meeting spot. You must allow yourself ample time to meet at the designated meeting spot and time.

There is a $10 parking fee - free with the empire pass.
(Some public libraries have empire passes that you can borrow for the day.)

Remember SPOTTY Cell SIGNAL at the Beach.

THE PLAN:

1. Meet @ Robert Moses Beach Field 5 - in front of Beach Shop, next to Ladies Restrooms.
2. Walk to Saltaire / Kismet (Fire Island) - on soft sand or Boardwalk. Around 30-45 min walk each way. BRING WATER. Take a short break in Fire Island. Enjoy a snack (shops nearby, or pack it with you). Then explore a bit.
3. Walk Back.
4. Return to Field 5, then head to cars, bring beach supplies from cars, food, cooler etc. Chill at the beach for a bit.
