ATHLETIC 6.4 Mile Hike at Trailview SOUTH
Details
This hike is NOT for beginners. Please do not RSVP unless you can hike at the moderately brisk pace of 18 minutes a mile for 6-7 miles (Silberman pace). There will be VERY FEW stops along the trail to promote a good aerobic workout. NO DOGS ALLOWED.
This will be a CHALLENGING 6.4 mile hike from the "Stop n Shop" entrance of Trailview State Park on Jericho Turnpike to the intersection of the Long Island Expressway and Washington Avenue in Plainview. We will take a short break and then will turn back to our starting point. We will cross the Northern State Parkway at Sunnyside Boulevard and enjoy climbing up and down a series of challenging hills.
Please bring appropriate footwear and food, water and other hiking accessories as needed. Please arrive on time because the hike will start at 10:00 a.m. Seriously.
