Join us on a gorgeous hike in Pasadena through Eaton Canyon. Anyone is welcome as this is a relatively easy 3.75 mile hike in the lower San Gabriel mountains to a beautiful 40-ft waterfall.
We are starting at 8:45am and expect the hike to take about 2 hours. There are a few shallow stream crossings so wear waterproof shoes or at least those you don't mind getting wet (an extra pair of socks is an option too). Remember to wear shoes fit for walking and bring water, sunscreen and of course your camera for the journey. This hike is mostly in open sunlight, so be sure to have good sun protection.
Directions: From the 210 freeway, take the Sierra Madre Blvd/Altadena Dr exit and head north. The park's entrance will be on your right in 1.7 miles. We will be meeting at the far end of the parking lot, near the nature center and head out from there.
Eaton Canyon Nature Center
There is a nature center at the entrance to the hike, some of us from the group may visit it afterwards, so you may want to allow some extra time if you'd like to enjoy it. http://www.ecnca.org/
