THIS EVENT WILL START FRIDAY @ 2:00PM and will be conducted both Saturday AND Sunday from 9:00AM to 1:00PM.

Cost is $250 per Training Day.

If you are already a certified diver, this is an excellent first step towards taking the correct scuba diving courses. During this course you will learn to build a solid foundation of buoyancy, balance and trim with propulsion. Team and critical skills are conducted to develop autonomy within dive buddies and to a level where you can deal with the unexpected. Additionally, this is an excellent primer for any of our advanced level and technical courses. This course gives every diver an opportunity to learn to effortlessly hold your position, in horizontal trim, while maintaining excellent balance. These are hallmark traits of a truly solid diver.

Our instructors are all highly trained to top Recreational, Technical, and Sidemount disciplines. We’ve spent years focused on developing state of the art training programs designed to build divers to a level where they become truly autonomous. This way, you can expect to enjoy every dive going forward, and feel confident maximizing the underwater experience.

AQUI Water Sports is certified through Scuba Diving International (SDI) and Technical Diving International (TDI). The instructors we staff also come from extensive technical backgrounds and talk for some of the world's top leading agencies for quality. Our programs are globally recognized and accepted by all agencies within the World Recreational Scuba Training Council (WRSTC).

Course Costs

Technical Training - $250/day

To Reserve your spots, we require a 50% deposit prior, and full amount due within 7 days of training dates. Refunds are admitted if cancellations, or weather conditions prevent us from diving. Refunds are not admitted if cancelled within 2 days of training unless approved by AQUI Water Sports. We strive to offer the best experience (backed by true customer reviews, and dedication to our instructor development) and booking classes last minute isn’t as easy as Groupon. Much time and dedication goes into your personalized training.

Air fills/gear rentals are included.

IMPORTANT

There is a medical evaluation form that must be completed by EACH student. If any answer provided is a “YES”, you must have doctor approval to continue the course. No Exceptions.

NOTE: We believe in failure based training. We actively work with the diver, in CONTROLLED environments, to build skills through teaching failures underwater. We practice on land, develop protocols to mitigate, then exercise underwater. Repeat as necessary. Failures in the water can either be a breeze to deal with or catastrophic. You’ll gain experience in resolving them during the course through repeated practice in the CRITICAL SKILLS component.

Course equipment configuration is designed to be simple, efficient, and consistent.

NOTE: IF you prefer to use your current gear configuration, adjustments may be necessary to achieve proper results.

Are you a certified diver that is ready to spend more time at depth while enjoying the scenic views of the oceans? Ever wondered why so many divers are recommending to breathe an oxygen-enriched gas?

We call this wonder gas.... NITROX (Enriched Air Oxygen).

Enriched Air (higher amounts of Oxygen) is a common gas that allows you to plan a longer dives and have safer decompression profile by increasing the Oxygen in your tank-- decreases the amount of Nitrogen in your cylinders.

The class features in-depth academic instruction, hands on gas analysis, and one certification dive focused on:

Manually planning your dive;
Emergency procedures;
Analyzing your Tanks and Marking them properly;
Setting up your computer;
And an AWESOME dive!

REQUIREMENTS: Open Water Certification from Recognized agency.
We will provide all gear for the course.

NOTE: if weather prevents dive from happening, it will be rescheduled at no further expense

Intro to Tech is a foundation course that not only prepares the diver for the mental challenge ahead, but also pushes the physical limits of the individual to understand Technical Diving. Our approach to this course is failure based training where the students learn about failures and emergency management. They learn how to deal with compromised divers and develop the confidence to lead a team to push beyond recreational boundaries.

Intro to technical diving is a course we feel strongly about. Unfortunately, many divers skip this course, or are talked out of it by an instructor that isn't doing their student service and moving beyond their actual skill level. This course also serves as a chance to master your personal (and team) skills before pushing your limits.

The most memorable course you will ever take is the first one in diving. Our entire lives, we are told that we can not breathe underwater. I say this is rubbish! Thanks to early pioneers in 1942 by the Frenchmen Émile Gagnan and Jacques-Yves Cousteau, we are able to break the stigma and breathe in the underwater realm. Since inception, millions of divers have been certified to continue living the legacy of Cousteau and become explorers themselves. After all, we as a society have only uncovered a small percentage of the ocean; who knows what we have waiting. But, we have to start somewhere...

This course gives you access to the underwater world while everyone else is swimming above it. From the lakes and rivers of the inland waters, to the breathtaking crystal blue waters around the world, there is no shortage of exploration to be had. As an open water diver, you will have proficiently completed the necessary skills, gained confidence, and learned how to effectively communicate submerged and share the experience.

Course prerequisites
Minimum age 18, 15 with parental consent

What you can expect to learn:

The SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Course will cover all of the necessary skills and knowledge for open water scuba diving, including:
The aquatic environment: vision, light, sound, heat loss, tides, currents, waves, surge, etc.

Physics and physiology: buoyancy, pressure, air spaces, breathing compressed air, mixed gases, etc.

Dive equipment selection, assembly, use and maintenance
Dive planning

Basic scuba skills including mask and regulator skills, swimming underwater, buoyancy control, basic rescue techniques, and emergency procedures

What’s in it for you:

Upon successful completion of the SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course, graduates may:
Conduct open water dives in conditions similar to their training
Continue their dive education by enrolling in SDI Advanced Diver and Specialty courses
SDI Open Water Scuba Diver minimum requirements:
Demonstrate mature and sound judgment concerning dive planning and execution
Satisfactorily complete the SDI Open Water Scuba Diver knowledge quests or equivalent online learning course
Complete all open water requirements safely and efficiently
