ALL-INCLUSIVE WEEKEND IN PENEDÈS WINE COUNTRY: wines, cava, ebikes, BBQ, hikes..

Discover the DO Penedès Wines & Cava in the funiest and more interesting way: a 3 days getaway in Penedès filled with wine tastings, local gastronomy and outdoors.

Day 1. Friday 2nd of July:

18:30h Meet the group and get a warm welcome
Meet the group and Alex (me) and begin the adventure! Try to be 10 minutes earlier so we make sure that we leave punctually.

19:30h Vilafranca del Penedès Tapas and Wine Tour
Upon arrival to Vilafranca (known as Wine Capital) we’ll take a historical stroll through the old town, as we stop to taste the most well known regional tapas and the DO Penedès wines in some restaurants.

22h Drive to the accommodation and check in

Day 2. Saturday 3rd of July

7:30 to 9:30h Breakfast

10h E-bike tour + wine tastings
Tour on electric bicycles through the most photogenic vineyards in the region. Along the beautiful ride we’ll be able to stop at 2-3 organic wineries to taste their wines and cavas (sparkling wine). It’ll consist of a 30km off road circular itinerary (about 3 effective hours on e-bike), in an activity of around 6h.

13:30h. Lunch among vineyards
Without leaving our itinerary we’ll stop for a visit to an organic winery, taste their cavas, and enjoy a great traditional Catalan brunch with Km0 products.

16:30h Back to accommodation and chill time. Suggestions:

• spend time with the group
• enjoy the swimming pool
• explore the area
• have a well deserved siesta
• drink some wine on a sunbed...

19:30h BBQ Party
For this night we will have a BBQ at the house. Will be a good moment to spend time with the group, share impressions and eat and drink in good company! Bring in some music, we'll surely make some dance moves!

Day 3. Sunday 4rt of July

7:30 to 9:30am Breakfast

9:30h Hike around the area
Only 15 minutes from our accommodation there’s Pantà de Foix, a lake surrounded of forests and vineyards. We’ll enjoy a 2-3h (10km) easy hike to the lake and discover parts of the historical legacy remaining in the region.

13:00h Lunch in a medieval farmhouse + wine tasting
Lunch in a masia catalana from the XV century. On the edge of Penedès and Garraf we find the family Montau’s lands. For many generations already they've been producing what they know best: cavas and wines. Visit, wine tasting and lunch all in one!

16:00h Beach vibes
No better plan Sunday than a little time enjoying the less touristy endless beaches of Baix Llobregat. Fancy a refreshing Mojito or a cold beer while enjoying the Mediterranean breeze? Do you love beach ball? Like swimming or just sunbathing? All beach plans are welcome!

19:00h Back to Plaça Catalunya in Barcelona

1. Full B&B accommodation in country house with twin shared rooms, swimming pool and garden.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1. Need to be 6 people to be able to adjust to the budget. We will not do the event with less than 6 participants plus me (the money will be refound). Tell your friends to join us!
2. Please notice that you may share your room with one more person. In order to adjust to standard prices, and due to the busy dates of the high season, I chose an accommodation that will provide of all the comforts and privacy for the group, but we’ll sleep in twin rooms with sometimes shared bathrooms
3. Due to the intense sun of summer and the lack of trees in some parts of Penedès it’s really important to have good physical and health conditions to enjoy both cycling and hiking activities. Water will be provided and there’ll be plenty of stops for breaks, pictures and wine tastings. Both routes don't present technical difficulties, such as big level variations or rocky soils.
