It’s Year of the Trail in North Carolina, and among other things there’s a series of Weekend Trail Days Festivals being sponsored by the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources’ Hometown Strong initiative. The goal of these events: to expose some really great trails in and near rural communities that you likely don’t know about. Trails that are less crowded, mainly because people don’t now about them.

In this Lunch with GetHiking! session we look at upcoming festivals in the northern Piedmont, Sandhills and mountains, and share some insight into what you can expect to discover.

In our Gear Talk with Trusty segment, Austin with Great Outdoor Provision Co. talks about hiking shoes ideal for spring exploring.

As always, we meet for a half hour or so, via Zoom. The link to the gathering will be sent the morning of the event to those who sign up.
