Drive to the top of Roan Mtn, Tn Friday 6/17 at 2:00pm ( meet where the AT crosses Carver's Gap) and wander throughout the Wild Rhododendron Gardens.

On Saturday 6/18 at 8:30 am we will shuttle from Mountain Harbour Hostel and B&B to Carver's Gap. We will reconvene and begin our hike from Carver's Gap at 9:00am. We will hike the 15 miles over Round, Jane and Grassy Ridge Balds; through Yellow mountain Gap to Little Hump & Big Hump Mountain balds back down to Hwy 19E. This Hike follows the Appalachian Trail and provides some of the most spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and Appalachian chain.

On Sunday 6/19, at 8:30 am we will hike another 9 mile segment of the AT from Hwy US321 at Watauga Lake to Dennis Cove Rd. We can be shuttled from Black Bear Resort to Hwy 321. This segment features Laurel Falls and some amazing Creekside trails.

We are planning to stay in Mountain Harbour Hostel and B&B in Roan 866-772-9494 on 6/17 and Black Bear Resort in Hampton 423-725-5988 on 6/18. Both have websites. There are lots of options for rooms, cabins, or camping so make your own reservations and co-ordinate sharing space with other attendees.

PS: Don't miss the 8:00am breakfast at Mountain Harbour Hostel on Saturday morning ($12.00). The Best Ever!!!! Also they will shuttle us to Carver's Gap for appx. $5.00 per person.
