James Madison's Montpelier to Grelen and Back

We’ll walk from James Madison’s Montpelier to Grelen Nurseries and Back approximately 6 miles roundtrip. Moderate pace. Rolling terrain with flat/2 abreast easy trails. Dogs on leash welcome.

Meet at Montpelier’s Rubenstein Visitor Center parking lot at the Map Kiosk. Enter Montpellier and follow Visitor Center signs. Note the legal address is NEXT TO Montpelier’s entrance.

Many things are interpreted along the way dependent on season in Grelen Nursery my fav is pictured). The walk to Grelen will take about 1 hour and then we’ll take a break. Then return arriving back at Montpelier noonish. We’ll eat lunch at Montpelier Cafe (outside food allowed).

Bathrooms, water and food available at Montpelier. No Montpelier admittance fee to walk their property.
