Hike Highlights - Blue Ridge Tunnel
Hike Details - We are going to meet at the east entrance of the Blue Ridge Tunnel below Afton Mountain. We will have a nice gravel path along the current railroad to the Blue Ridge Tunnel. We will walk the Blue Ridge Tunnel all the way to the western trailhead parking area. We will turn around and retrace our steps back to the cars at the eastern trailhead parking area. Following the hike, we will make our way to one of the local wineries (Afton Mountain, Veritas, Cardinal Point, or King Family) to enjoy the views, some socializing, snacks, and a couple of bottles of Virginia wine. We can decide what winery to go to after the hike.
What to Bring - Comfortable Walking Shoes (Good Beaten up Shoes), Flashlight, A Jacket or Layer for the cool temperatures in the Tunnel, A food item for the winery
