Alternate Hike - O&B Rockfish Gap to Paul Wolfe Shelter

Due to the closure of Skyline Drive, we will be hiking an alternate hike. We will meet at Rockfish Gap at the parking lot near where the Blue Ridge Parkway begins. We will hike on the AT to the Paul Wolfe Shelter and retrace back to our cars.

Special Notes:

• There are multiple stream crossings. Bring waterproof shoes, waterproof socks, overshoes or whatever you prefer for stream crossings. A dry pair of shoes and socks for the end of the hike may be nice as well.

For this hike we will start from Jarman Gap Parking. We will follow the South Fork Moorman Fire Road, crossing the South Fork Moorman River multiple times. At the 2 mile mark, we will turn left on Turk Branch Trail and climb back to Skyline Drive and the Turk Mountain Parking area. We will cross Skyline drive and follow the AT to Turk Mountain Trail and to its rocky summit. After enjoying the views, we will retrace our steps on the Turk Mountain Trail back to the AT where we will turn right and follow the AT past Sawmill Run overlook and back to Jarman Gap and our cars.
