Berry Hollow to Old Rag. 5.5 miles with 1,745 of gain -- strenuous

Details
We scoped this trail last year. It's a great way to get to the Old Rag summit without the rock scramble. It is a HARD hike so please only sign up if you can hike at a moderately fast pace and do 1,745 feet of gain.

The parking lot is very small so I am limiting this hike to 10 people and starting at 8:30 to avoid the crowds. You might consider car pooling.
The Berry Hollow Trailhead is located at the end of Weakley Hollow Road. The road veers to the right and becomes one lane after the White Oak Canyon parking lot.
We will follow the fire road to the Berry Hollow Trail then turn onto the Saddle Trail. This will lead to the top of Old Rag. We will stop for a snack to enjoy the views from the summit of Shenandoah's most famous peak before following the same route back.
A few notes:
- There is a fee to enter Shenandoah National Park but this parking lot is not attended. We did not have to pay the last time we entered but I left my pass on the dashboard.
- Technically you need a day pass to hike Old Rag but we were not asked for one and the SNP website does not mention it in reference to this trail.
- Dog are not allowed on this hike.
- Please bring water as I am bossy about that.
- I don't hike in the rain and will cancel the day before if the weather looks nasty.
- There is no cell service in this area.
- Please please update your attendance if you can not attend. (If you are listed as going or on the wait list.)
