Rapidan Camp - 7.6 moderately strenuous miles - 1,300 feet elevation gain

Details
This is another hike suggested by our fearless leader Pepper.
Hiking Upward gives this detailed description. (We will do it in reverse.) https://www.hikingupward.com/snp/camphoover/images/Map.pdf
Please read the description to decide if this hike is for you. There is one tricky water crossing where a pole or two might be handy.
If you want to learn about Hoover's Rapidan Camp, here is the description from the SNP website. https://www.nps.gov/places/000/rapidan-camp.htm
When Steve and I hiked this in April we saw lots of mountain laurel bushes on the Laurel Prong trail. I am hoping they are in bloom for us in early June.
I don't need to tell you to wear good hiking boots but I will anyway. Bring plenty of water and pack a lunch. We will stop at Rapidan Camp for lunch and a bathroom break.
We will meet in the Milam Gap parking lot in Shenandoah National Park (milepost 52.4) and head out after brief introductions. A few notes:
- There is an entrance fee for Shenandoah NP. https://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisit/fees.htm
- Well behaved leashed dogs are welcome.
- I am limiting this hike to 14 people; no guests.
- I get really cranky about no-shows. If you are unable to join us, cancel your RSVP as soon as possible.
- I don't hike in the rain and will cancel the night before if the weather is nasty.
