Easy Friday Morning Hike (and Coffee)

Details
Let’s meet at Woolen Mills for a hike on the Rivanna River Trail and go for coffee (or tea, etc.) at The Workshop afterward.
We’ll meet at the bridge that connects Woolen Mills with the Rivanna Trail. You can park in the lower lot and the bridge is easy to spot from just about anywhere you walk from in the area.
Hiking a total of about 5 miles, from Woolen Mills out to Avon Street, we'll turn around at the Avon bridge over the river and retrace our steps.
After, we can grab coffee, tea, pastries (or wine, if that’s your thing – I may have buried the lede for some of you) at The Workshop. I’ve never been there, so I can’t attest to anything about it, other than they serve coffee from Grit according to their website, so that's good enough for me.
Difficulty: Easy; approximately 5 miles with an elevation gain no greater than 400 ft
What to Bring/Wear: water, appropriate footwear for walking/hiking on an at-times rugged trail, trekking poles if you prefer them
Weather: If the forecast calls for severe weather I will reschedule for a later date.
Dog Policy: Dogs are allowed. Please keep them leashed for their safety and for the comfort of other hikers.
RSVP: I’m not a stickler for keeping groups at minimum on city hikes, but please update your RSVP if you find you can’t make it so that I’m not expecting you at the trailhead. I try not to leave people behind, but I also don’t want to keep a group waiting, so communication is appreciated by all.
