FATHER'S DAY WALK AROUND UVA

Join me for an exploration of the UVA Grounds: the Rotunda and Lawn, a few of the pavilion gardens, the Dell, and the elevated walkway over to the old cemeteries. We’ll walk about 3 miles. Throughout, there are many sets of steps and a few gated gardens to be traversed. The elevation gain/loss is only 170 feet but with all the up and down, it feels like more than that. Please bring water. Leashed dogs are welcome.

Meet near the entrance to the UVA Bookstore, which is located behind Newcomb Hall, on the top floor of the Central Grounds parking garage. If you park in the Central Grounds parking garage (FREE on Sundays), take the elevator up to Level 4, and you’re there.

It sure looks like rain on Sunday, but you never know!!!

DIRECTIONS/PARKING: The Central Grounds parking garage, address 400 Emmet St S, Charlottesville, VA 22903, is FREE on Sundays. Don't worry about the Parkmobile app on Sundays. There are also 2-hour parking spots along University Avenue.

No shows and repeat last-minute cancelers will be moved to Not Going on future hikes. Thanks for being considerate. WEATHER: Pouring rain or thunder and lightning will cancel this walk. Otherwise, we go.
