Boars Head- Round Top trail 4 -5 miles

Head out on this ~5 miles out-and-back trail near Charlottesville, Virginia. Generally hike is considered a moderately challenging route with an elevation of approximately 800 feet. It takes about two hours to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. This trail starts at the parking lot off to Wellington Drive and leads to the summit of Round Top in Heyward Community Forest. It winds through shaded forest, passing thru small ponds on the way to the rocky summit. Be prepared for steep sections and exposed tree roots—sturdy footwear and hiking poles are recommended.
What to Bring/Wear: water, snacks, good hiking shoes and hiking poles.

Directions: From Hwy. 250, turn into the main entrance onto Ednam, then LEFT onto Boars Head Pointe Road. After you turn left, you will see the Inn on your right. CONTINUE to Wellington Drive and turn right into the parking lot. We will gather at the south end of this parking lot toward the pond.
