Shamokin Springs Nature Preserve ~5 miles Moderate hike

Please join us for this moderate hike on August 7th, 2025 (Thursday) at 8:30 AM. This hike is recommended by our fellow hiker, Julie Gough. Since the temperature around Wintergreen is about 8-10 degrees lower, we hope to have a comfortable hike.
This will be in and out 5 miles hike starting at 16 Veery Lane Roseland VA-22967, (located inside Winter Green Resort).
We will go about a half mile on the street to start our hike to the Shamokin Springs Nature Preserve, then head south along on the Old Appalechian Trail to reach DRIPPING ROCK on the Blue Ridge Parkway and link back up to the AT and take this trail to a large overlook with an incredible view called CEDAR CLIFFS.

WE WILL MEET AT 8:30 AM AND PARK THE CAR ON THE STREET AT THIS ADDRESS:
16 Veery Lane, Roseland VA-22967 (located @ Wintergreen Resort).

What to Bring/Wear: water/snacks, good hiking shoes and hiking poles.

Dog Policy: You are welcome to bring well behaved pups join - must be on a leash and please pick up after your pet.
