Kayak/Paddle Board at Chris Greene Lake Park

This 239-acre park includes 53 water acres and 2 beach acres. Several recreational amenities are provided, including a 1-acre fenced in dog park with water access for dogs to swim, 2 reservable picnic shelters, a playground, and 3 miles of trails. This park is in the northern section of Albemarle County and minutes from Charlottesville Airport.

We can go around the lake for a couple of hours. Get in the water to cool off and do a little swimming. Optional lunch at East Garden (120 Riverbend Drive) afterward.

Rules on the water:

1. No alcohol or glass bottle/container;
2. Wear life jacket;
3. Assign buddy system;
4. Maintain safe distances: no greater than 10 ft between buddies and 25 ft between groups);
5. Use of whistle:
   a. 1 long blast- stop in place;
   b. 2 short blasts- all clear, continue;
   c. 3 short blasts- emergency (stop, assess, assist).
6. Check experience/swim level;
7. Check for equipment: PFD, whistle, water.
