The hike will start and end at the Grelen Farm Market. We will hike about 4.3 miles along the perimeter of the Grelen Farm Trails. We will pass a small pond and enjoy overlooking the farm. We may have a short walk in the woods too - depending upon which trail we take back to the market. Grelen is a place to celebrate and enjoy agriculture, scenic and colorful open space in Virginia, We hope you can join us!

Directions: The Market at Grelen, 15091 Yager Road, Somerset, VA 22972. Parking/Meet Place: Enter the Market at Grelen Parking. Follow the signs toward the Market. Park in the Overflow and Event Parking on the left.

Time: 10:30 am. We will take a few minutes for introductions and “Trivia while Trekking" then begin our walk.

Weather: Forecast - Perfect fall hiking weather! Mid 50s at the start. Low 60s at the end. A steady rain cancels this activity. If there is a cancellation, attendees will be notified one hour prior to hike time.

Hike Leaders: The hike co-leaders (Nancy-703-627-9237 and Ken-703-622-5431) generally drive a black Honda Pilot and wear baseball style hats and are accompanied by Milo, their mostly black hike-loving dog.

Dog Policy: Dogs must be on a leash. A short (max 6', non-retractable) leash works best on group hikes. Owners must pick up after their dog. Dogs need to be well-behaved and capable of keeping up with the pace of hikers. Be sure to bring drinking water for you and your dog.

Hike Preparation: Water. Hiking poles - at your discretion. They can be quite helpful ascending and descending rolling hills.

RSVP Specifics: Sign up. Once signed up, if you decide not to attend, please update RSVP to No/Not Going, as soon as possible-at least 24 hours in advance, so others on the waitlist can join in. Same-day cancellations do not allow those on the waitlist to prepare for the hike.

Waitlist: If you are on the wait list and decide you do not wish to hike if a spot becomes available, respectfully update to Not Going 24 hours in advance of the hike so that others can have your waitlist spot.
