The Kennedy Peak Loop is in the George Washington National Forest near Fort Valley and Luray, VA. Situated at the top of Kennedy Peak is a mountain lookout tower where we will see some of the best views in the area! Starting from the parking lot we will start our hike on the Massanutten Mtn Trail. We will make an initial ascent, then follow the ridgeline before turning on the Kennedy Peak Trial for the final ascent to the summit and the views from the lookout tower. We will retrace our steps on the Kennedy Peak Trail, then continue on the Massanutten Mtn Trail to the intersection with Stephens Trail, where we will turn left and follow it back to our cars.

Weather: If inclement weather necessitates canceling or postponing the hike, the decision will be made no later than 7:00AM - cancellations will be posted on the hike comments section. Steady rain with not much chance of clearing and/or dangerous conditions will call for postponing the hike.
RSVP: If you find that you are NOT going to be able to attend the hike, please update your RSVP to “No” as soon as possible. This allows those on the waitlist to have the opportunity to attend.
