PLEASE NOTE - This is going to be a winter time hike at around 3000 feet of elevation. The temperatures are 10 to 15 degrees colder than what we have in Charlottesville. There is also going to be a wind chill factor with higher winds on the ridgeline. You will need to dress for these weather conditions. You must have layers of clothing, beanies, gloves, and proper gear for these weather conditions. The hike leader does reserve the right to not allow hikers on this hike if he feels that hikers are not ready or prepared to hike in these conditions.

Hike Details - This is an out and back hike from Milam Gap in the Central District of Shenandoah National Park to Fishers Gap. The elevations profile for this stretch of Appalachian Trail is undulating with multiple climbs and descents. We will have the option of climbing up to Black Rock near the Big Meadows Resort. Even without the climb up to Black Rock, we will still have multiple viewpoints and vistas as we hike this stretch of Appalachian Trail. Following the hike, there will be an optional post hike at a restaurant in Ruckersville.
