Ski/Hike Canaan Valley Resort (WV) #1

Canaan Valley Resort State Park is a year-round mountain destination located in West Virginia within the scenic Canaan Valley, the highest mountain valley east of the Rockies. Canaan Valley Ski Resort, located in Davis, WV, provides downhill skiers of all levels with plentiful skiing and riding options.
The ski area is home to long beginner and intermediate trails serviced by a modern chairlift infrastructure and supported by a large snowmaking system. Canaan Valley has limited skier traffic that allows for short lift lines. The resort is known for being very family friendly and provides ski and snowboard schools. Other resort activities include cross country skiing, ice skating, snowshoeing and snow tubing.

1. I plan to tent camp at the resort campground. There is electric hookup available in the winter so you can use an electric heater in your tent or RV.

4. Suggested packing list: skiing/hiking/camping equipment, cold-weather gear (layering), whistle, snowshoes, crampons/ice walkers, boot gaiters (for snow), and 2 lunches/snacks/drinks.
5. A final itinerary or cancellation notice will be posted 3-5 days before the trip.

1 pm - Hike Canaan Valley Resort State Park. Meet in the lobby.
3 pm - Check-in for hotel lodging or tent site.
5 pm - Dinner at the Hickory Dining Room (main lodge). See https://www.canaanresort.com/resort/dining/.
7 pm - Visit Beech Club (hot tub, pool, fitness ctr). Bring padlock for locker.

8 am - Breakfast at the Hickory Dining Room.
9 am - Ski Canaan Valley Ski Resort. Meet at lift ticket windows. I'll be wearing a red helmet.
2 pm - Hike Canaan Valley Resort SP. Meet in the lobby.
5 pm - Dinner at Canaan Valley BBQ (189 Bensland Rd, Davis). See https://canaanvalleybbq.com/full-menu/.
7 pm - Visit Beech Club (hot tub, pool, fitness ctr). Bring padlock for locker.
