PLEASE NOTE - We are going to be hiking on the ridgeline from the Pinnacles Picnic Ground to Mary's Rock. You can subtract 8 to 12 degrees from the forecasted high temperature in Charlottesville. There will possibly be a chill in the air. Please make sure to bring the appropriate layers for this hike. Please make sure to dress for the weather. I will be manually adding hikers based on when they join the wait list. Everyone will start on the wait list and people will be manually added to the hike based on when they join the wait list and not because of Meetup Plus Membership.

Hike Highlights - Pinnacles Picnic Ground, Appalachian Trail, Byrd Nest Shelter, Appalachian Trail, Multiple Ridgeline Views, 360 Degree Views from Mary's Rock, Mary's Rock

Hike Details - This is going to be an out and back hike from the Pinnacles Picnic Area to Mary's Rock. We will hike along the ridgeline using the Appalachian Trail. Along the hike to Mary's Rock, we will have multiple vista points of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The highlight will be the 360-degree views from Mary's Rock. After reaching Mary's Rock, we will turn around and retrace our steps to the Pinnacles Picnic Area. Following the hike, there will be an optional post hike at Skyland Resort. There is a restaurant, bar, and gift shop. We will make sure to enjoy the legendary blackberry ice cream.
