Hike Details - This is one of my all time favorite hikes in Shenandoah National Park. This hike in the South District of Shenandoah National Park will take us to a remote peak with a 360-degree view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah Valley, and the Massanutten Ridge. We will start from the Brown Gap Parking Area. We will start with a 0.5-mile climb up to the junction with the Big Run Loop Trail. We will turn left on the Big Run Loop Trail. We will emerge onto the ridgeline that will take us out to Lewis Peak. We will continue past the Austin Mountain Trail and Rockytop Trail. We will continue onto the Lewis Peak Trail. The Lewis Peak Trail will take us to the Summit Trail. The Summit Trail will take us up to the summit of Lewis Peak and our turnaround spot. After soaking in the views, eating lunch, and taking many pictures, we will retrace our steps back to the cars. There will be an optional post hike at one of the breweries near Crozet.
