SAUNDERS-MONTICELLO TRAIL - 4.5 or 6 miles

Next Tuesday's weather looks like a great day for a hike on the Saunders Monticello Trail. There are two choices on this hike. You can do the traditional Saunders Monticello boardwalk trail then head back to the parking lot and clock 4.5 miles. If you want extra mileage, we will head to the Red Trail (with some nice elevation) and get an extra 1.5 miles. We'll meet at 10 AM at the far end of the Dairy Barn parking lot, near the Saunders Monticello Trail entrance. The parking lot is off Route 20 between Route 53 and exits for 64; across from Piedmont Virginia Community College. Introductions take about 5 minutes. If you are late, walk up the trail to find us. We'll hike up to the Visitors Center, stop to use the bathrooms and hike back down; either to the red trail or to the parking lot.

Notes:

• Please bring water as that always makes me happy.
• With the extra mileage this will take about 3 hours. With no extra mileage, it's a tad over 2 hours.
• I don't hike in the rain and will be a baby and cancel if it is raining.
• Leashed dogs are allowed.
