Hike Distance/Rating - 9.5 Miles/Moderately Strenuous

Winter Conditions - This is going to be a winter hike with around 2,211' of elevation gain. The temperatures are 10 to 15 degrees colder than lower elevations. There is also going to be a wind chill factor with higher winds on the ridgeline. Monitor the weather and properly dress for the weather conditions. You must have layers of clothing, beanies, gloves, and proper gear for these weather conditions.

Hike Details - This is a ciruit hike from the Wildcat Ridge Parking Area in the Southern District of Shenandoah National Park. The first 2.6 miles is brisk loss of elevation down the Wildcat Ridge Trail. We'll then take the Riprap Trail for 3.7 miles along the Meadow Run Creek and then ascend to the Appalacian Trail. We'll intersect the AT at the 6.3 mile mark and remain on it for the final 3.2 miles back to the parking area.
