SAUNDERS-MONTICELLO TRAIL-Dog Friendly-4.5 miles

The Saturday morning weather looks good for a hike on the Saunders Monticello Trail. Partly sunny - 48 degrees at start time with the temperature rising to mid 50s. This hike will be the traditional Saunders Monticello boardwalk trail - then back to the parking lot.

This is a popular trail on weekends.Be sure to arrive early enough to find a parking spot and connect with the group before start time. If your plans change, please take your name off the list by Friday evening at the latest so waitlisters can join in.

We'll meet at the far end of the Dairy Barn parking lot, near the Saunders Monticello Trail entrance. The parking lot is off Route 20 between Route 53 and exits for 64; across from Piedmont Virginia Community College. Introductions take about 5 minutes. If you are late, walk up the trail to find us. We'll hike up to the Visitors Center, stop to use the bathrooms and hike back down to the parking lot.

Notes:

• Please bring water.
• The hike will be about 2 hours and 15 minutes.
• Leashed dogs are allowed.
• The hike will be canceled if it is raining. We will notify hikers of cancellation one hour before the hike begins.
