Sawmill Run Overlook AT North March 24, 2026
If we get enough folks we can make it a 1 way (shuttle 6.3 miles 1.455k’ elevation) or out and back
For those interested, we’ll take some gps info, look at a map and a compass for bearing exercise
We will start/meet at Sawmill Overlook parking lot (mm 96ish)

For info on the trail for those not familiar.
This will be a moderate hike (2 – 3 on the star scale), because we will be moving at a more meandering pace (1.5-2 mph). We might stop periodically to take a map contour reading and/or compass bearings. This hike will have approximately 1.5k’ elevation ascent to/from the parking lot and take about 4.5 hours (~ 6 miles) including stopping for snacks etc. If we don’t shuttle, I’ll cut the trip in half (3 mile out, 3 mile back) This we will determine on the start of the hike and interest discussions on meetup
We will meet at the trailhead by 9:00 am with a prompt 9:30 am departure/start. I expect to return to the trailhead no later than 2 PM. For those interested maybe some post hike meal at a local restaurant or somewhere.
