Easy Friday morning trek to get in some exercise, followed by my favorite: coffee. ☕

We’ll meet in front of Great Outdoor Provision Company (our sponsor!) in the Barracks Road shopping center and hop onto the Rivanna River trail, on the other side of Barracks and take the lesser known trail back around to 29, head over to Meadowcreek Park and under the tunnels to reach the other portion of the Rivanna trail. Making our way to Greenbriar Park, we can turn around at the bridge and retrace steps back to Barracks Shopping Center where anyone who wishes can join me at Greenberry’s in Barracks for coffee or tea. They also serve sandwiches in addition to pastry items.

Difficulty Rating: Easy, approximately 5 miles with less than 300 feet elevation gain.

What to Bring/Wear: dress for temps in the high-50s to mid- 60s (as of this posting), appropriate footwear for walking/hiking on an at-times rugged trail, water, trekking poles if you prefer them (There are two water crossings on this hike, both doable by rocks and there is a rope on the larger of the two, but poles might be handy for some.)

Weather: In the case of inclement weather I'll reschedule for the next Friday I have available.

Dog Policy: Dogs are allowed. Please keep them leashed for their safety and for the comfort of other hikers.

RSVP: If you find you’re not going to be able to attend, please update your RSVP to “Not Going” as soon as you can, so I know not to expect you. Thanks!
