Crabtree Falls: Moderate 3 miles Hike
Details
Another Crabtree Falls hike - expecting wildflowers!
Join me at the tallest waterfall along the Blue Ridge Parkway! (Check National Park Service for seasonal road closures.)
We will be doing ~ 2.6 miles hike up and back, 570 ft elevation gain. (If you want to go faster or further, that's ok but I plan to stop for a few photos and maybe a brief meditation - meet for lunch or snacks at the top overlook "seating area" by the rock wall.)
Plenty of incline, including steps, and some spots may be muddy. We may be done earlier, depending on group. Hoping to do this regularly.
We will meet : Crabtree Falls upper lot at the bottom of trailhead
Bring $3 cash to pay for parking (kiosk after entrance) or your National Park pass/hangtag to hang from you rearview mirror.
Please bring water/snacks (your lunch, and/or goodies to share - optional) and wear appropriate footwear. Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, bug spray - you know. Hiking pole/s may be helpful.
Reminder: Be sure to stay on the trail.
Weather: If plans change due to weather I'll update in the comments section.
RSVP: If you're not going to be able to attend the hike, please update your RSVP to "Not Going" as soon as possible.
