Grelen is special! If you have not visited, consider joining this hike! The hike will start and end at the Market at Grelen. We will hike about 4.3 miles along the perimeter of the Grelen Farm Trails – where we will pass a small pond and enjoy overlooking the farm. We may have a short walk in the woods, too, depending upon which trail we take back to the market. Celebrate and enjoy agriculture and beautiful, scenic open space in Virginia by visiting Grelen. Parking/Meet Place: Enter the Market at Grelen Parking. Follow the signs toward the Market. Park in the Overflow and Event Parking on the left.
Time: 10:30 am. We will take a few minutes for introductions and “Trivia while Trekking" and then begin our walk.
Weather: Lovely spring weather! The temp. forecast-70s at the start, warming to 80s. A steady rain cancels this activity. If there is a cancellation, attendees will be notified one hour prior to hike time.
Hike Preparation: Bring water! Hiking poles - at your discretion. They can be quite helpful ascending and descending rolling hills.
Hike Leaders: The hike co-leaders (Nancy-703-627-9237 and Ken-703-622-5431) typically drive a black Honda Pilot and wear baseball style hats and are accompanied by Milo, their hike-loving dog.
Dog Policy: Dogs should be on a short (max 6', non-retractable) leash and owners need to pick up after their dog. Be sure to bring drinking water. Dogs need to be well-behaved and capable of keeping up with the pace of hikers.
RSVP Specifics: Sign up. Once signed up, if you decide not to attend, please update RSVP to No/Not Going, as soon as possible-at least 24 hours in advance, so others on the waitlist can join in. Same-day cancellations do not allow those on the waitlist to prepare for the hike.
Waitlist: If you are on the wait list and decide you do not wish to hike if a spot becomes available, respectfully update to Not Going 24 hours in advance of the hike so that others can have your waitlist spot.
