To celebrate Mountains-to-Sea Trail Month, we'll hike an especially gorgeous stretch of the MST: from the Rough Ridge parking lot to Beacon Heights a and back. This hike follows the rugged southeast flank of Grandfather Mountain, and includes rocky passages choked with rhododendrons, waterfalls, and an exposed stretch with great views at Rough Ridge. About 9 miles total.
