While we wait for cooler days to return, lets hit the water to experience a new sport at Beaverdam Lake that has a sandy swimming beach, restrooms, outside showers, picnic tables and plenty of parking. The best part is no motor boats are allowed so a great place for beginners.
The details: Entrance fee of $6 per car(why not car pool) and I will call Rolling View Marina who bring boats to this area every weekend to insure we have the kayaks we need. It is $25 for 2 hours for kayaks and $30 for canoes. They supply paddles and life vests.( Mandatory to wear) Let me know if you want sit in or sit on kayak. We will paddle for the 2 rental hours and if you want more time, you can re-rent your boat.
We will just be playing in the water in our boats there will be no instructions or guided trip to a set destination on the lake. The intention is to be together and for those new to kayaking a chance to get the feel of being in this type boat. I will be in my boat and we will play/paddle as a group. Boat owners may paddle more of the area and chose to boat longer.
Recommended to bring: Swim Suit or shorts, shoes that can get wet, sun screen, picnic and sun hat. Plenty of water, too. If you bring a phone or camera on the boat, you will need a water proof type bag.
