Elk River Trail Adventure – Group Hike Ten Best Trails in Kansas, Number 1

Join us for a fun and scenic day on one of the best hiking trails in Kansas – the Elk River Trail near Independence, KS.
This will be a relaxed, friendly group hike along the beautiful 15-mile Elk River Trail that follows the shoreline of Elk City Lake. Whether you want to hike the entire trail or just enjoy a portion of it, this meetup is all about getting outdoors, meeting new people, and enjoying a great day on the trail.
Where:
Elk River Trail – East Trailhead Parking Area
Independence, Kansas
Plan for the Day:
We will meet at the trailhead, at 9;00 am.
This trail is moderately challenging with great views, wooded sections, and plenty of photo opportunities. All hiking levels are welcome. You can go at your own pace and turn back whenever you like.
What to Bring:

• Comfortable hiking shoes
• Water and snacks
• Weather-appropriate clothing
• A positive attitude and sense of adventure

After the hike, anyone who wants to can join the group for an optional meal or refreshments at a local spot in Independence to relax and share stories from the day. Stoney's Grub and Pub.

• This is an outdoor event and will be weather dependent.
• Pets are welcome if they are friendly and kept on a leash.
• Please arrive on time.
